Packed with over 6 GB of drum samples, this Signature Series sample pack mixed by Grammy Award winning engineer Brendan Dekora, features an over-sampled 1936 Leedy maple kit consisting of a 22” kick drum, 13x9” rack tom, 16x16” floor tom, 2 snares and an array of cymbals.
Snare #1 is the original 6.5" x 14" Leedy maple snare that came with the kit. The Leedy snare has a rich, woody sound that works well with all styles of music - particularly Modern Rock, Metal and Americana/Roots.
Snare #2 is a 5"x14" maple Porkpie Little Squealer. The Little Squealer snare is legendary for its crisp, cracking tone that's perfect for rimshots and 'Chili Pepper-esque' tones that cut through any mix. We think it's a perfect complementary snare to the Leedy kit's deep, woody sound.
To complete the pack, we also sampled these cymbals that sound absolutely great with this kit:

Our kit was recorded at Refraze Studios in Dayton, OH on a vintage Trident 80B console and processed through original UREI 1176 compressors and warm analog gear. A collection of Neumann, Shure, AKG and Sennheiser microphones were used to record the drums.
The samples are 24 bit / 48 khz stereo .wav files mixed by award-winning engineer/producer Brendan Dekora (Foo Fighters, Steven Wilson, Billy Idol, more) at his Los Angeles studio.
About this Sample Pack:
The Multi-Velocity/ Multi-Mic WAV pack provides multiple velocity steps of each articulation. For each articulation there are up to 8 velocities in the MV Pack and 3 Round Robin variations. For example - A Center Snare folder might contain 8 velocities (how hard the drum is hit by the drummer) with 3 sets of unique hits (these are the Round Robins). This prevents the "machine gun" effect that old drum machines sounded like when the same sample was triggered in rapid-fire. Round robins sound more like a real drummer.
In addition to velocity steps and Round Robin variations, there are multiple articulations (types of hits) per instrument. For example, the hi hat has 14 unique types of hits (edge, tip, and various OPEN and CLOSED hat stages). The Snare folder has 9 articulation folders, etc. WOW!
There's up to 11 different microphone stems(!) for each instrument articulation - including a direct mic, stereo Overheads, a back room mic, back room "Rock" mic ('enhanced' and compressed), mid room mic, front room mic, front room "Rock" mic (compressed), an ultra-compressed mic (parallel), and 2 pre-balanced presets from Grammy® Award-winning engineer, Brendan Dekora, a "NATURAL" mix and a "ROCK" mix preset.
The NATURAL mix folder contains samples with just a hint of natural ambience from the room & overhead microphones mixed in, as well as a touch of analog processing for the most natural, organic sound. It's perfect for Americana, Roots and Country music where the drums need to be front and center and in your face.
The ROCK mix folder contains samples with a bit more room, and slightly more processing (but not too much!) for a bigger sound. It's perfect for modern rock and metal productions that need the drums to be loud and punchy to cut through any mix.
All samples have been mixed by Brendan and are MixReady™ - that means they sound great and are ready to use 'right out of the box' and in your productions. The samples can be used in any drum machine or sampler that reads 24 bit WAV files.
This pack is a great choice for those who need the multiple velocities and round robin variations for more realistic drum productions.
